lemon cake and penguin pants

tonight I wore pajama pants to Kroger at 7:30 in the evening with my friend Hannah in a quest to satisfy her desire for lemon cake. I love how I nobody even batted an eyelash at my attire. Though of course, I wouldn't have cared if they did. They could have even pointed and I probably would have turned on them with a smile and said, "what of it? go back to minding your grocery cart." lol, alright. maybe not. but I would like to think that's what I'd do.

I do have some breaking tragic news to share. my fish died.

yes.. r.i.p. yoshimi. The worst part is, my mom killed him.
..with a bug bomb.

it was awful. murdered by a family member. sounds like a James Patterson novel.. child edition.




anyway, that was some dang straight scrumptious lemon cake. and my spaghetti in the cup was solid too. have you ever tried spaghetti in a cup? It was my attempt to reuse my Styrofoam cup. As I hate Styrofoam.. it's an man-made evil that never deteriorates and pollutes the planet and kills our manatees. (just saying) However, I did find myself rather screwed when I then wanted a drink with my spaghetti.. I guess you can't win them all :)


In other news.. katie's vinyl of the day is none other than Sgt Pepper and the Lonely Heart's Club. (I'm a huge old-school music fan if you didn't know) (vinyls and cassette tapes.. yeah.. they're awesome) So it's no surprise that I think it'd be really neat to be the girl with the kaleidoscope eyes..

really embracing this blogging thing

lol. alright, a blogger I shall become. my thoughts I shall type. So consider this your official warning. leaving now might be in your best interest.. however, I write only for myself and future me and for any of my friends or family members who might just care enough, or who sadly may be bored enough to bother reading. funny how those too often coincide... caring and being bored. haha. alright, so here you see a picture I took today with my cat stella.

moving on in life. I am not ashamed to admit that the new Katy Perry song has become my new song obsession of the week. I often fall prey to the onslought of mainstream I hear on the radio. sue me. It's catchy, and a really good dance in front of your mirror song. (just saying)

oh what else what else? there's probably loads of wicked awesome stuff I could fill this blog with. Right now I feel like a currently ate an elephant. I am that full. That's what I get for actually cooking and enjoying the food I make.. You see, I make dessert too. For dinner's not truly complete w/o dessert in my opinion. And tonight was oreo pudding! mmhmm. delish! It's basically frozen coolwhip and layered oreos dipped in milk. aka: heaven in a bowl. an old camp favorite made by the lovely Mrs Shannon White from FBC.

oy vey. I feel like I should post another picture. let me peruse my pc and see if I have any gems to end the night with...........

alright, so this was good. this was new. I like it. I feel like I'm working my way back to my true self again. which is the best feeling ever. no more being false, no more hiding in my shell. I'm ready to be a free spirit again, the girl God has made me to be. So blessings one and all, and chim-chim-cheery! until I blog another day. <><

Mrs. Frizzle & Samantha Brown

I have decided my dream hybrid version of myself.. would be a combination of Mrs. Frizzle and Samantha Brown. "have adventures...make mistakes...and get messy!!!" that + a paid TV job to travel/explore/and experience the world's wonders and cultures... um yeah! where can I sign up???

oh right. I can't. I can only dream. like Susan Boyle... she dreamed a dream. At least I have my Mrs. Frizzle sweater. and I have the passion of Samantha Brown. I just gotta do my own thing. make my own path. go my own way... (Gabriella and Troy) I will be a young modern-day Mrs. Piggle Wiggle. mark my words world! It may take me awhile to get there, but the journey is have the fun. :) It'll be cool to see where God & I end up.
